Year 2 took part in an art project with a local artist. Here are the pots they made. Aren't they fantastic?

When they are finished, they will be displayed in school and some will be displayed at Chester Cathedral in May. We will send out further details about this nearer to the time.

Year 2 have been trying really hard with their handwriting since January.

This week in year 2

We have had another busy week in year 2!

In English, we have been continuing to read Meerkat Mail. We have used the story to help us learn how to use apostrophes in our writing. Can you remember when we use them? There are two ways!

In Maths, we have been learning how to add two 2 digit numbers. Can you remember how to show our working out? 

In topic, we have been continuing to learn about the family that opened Chester Zoo. We now know their names and the jobs that they did around the zoo.

We are concentrating on improving our handwriting in year two. Any extra practise at home would be very helpful!
