Children in need

On Friday 17th September we wore spotty clothes to raise money for children in need. Some of us even came dressed as Pudsey!! We learnt about lots of different ways that children in need helps different children and their families.

Learning a recount

Today we have learnt that a recount is somebody talking about something that they have done. We then read a recount written by a girl about her trip to London. In groups we made story maps and actions so that we could remember her recount. We then showed the recounts to everybody else in class.

We baked our own bread!

We have been learning about the Great Fire of London. We have found out that the fire started in a bakery and that they might have been baking bread when it started. To start with we tried different types of bread and recorded what they looked like, tasted like and gave them a score out of 10. We then designed our own bread. In groups we then made the bread using yeast, flour, salt, sugar and water. Some of us even topped ours with cheese or put poppy seeds into our bread. Miss Hunniford baked them at lunch time. After lunch we all enjoyed trying our bread and writing about it. We all had lots of fun baking today!
